Position Summary: The Accountant is primarily responsible for Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and state sales tax reporting. The position also assists the Accounting Manager and CFO with general accounting functions of the company.
 

 
Responsibilities:
 

 
Accounts Payable:
 
• Code and input invoices into accounting system
 
• A/P check runs (semi-monthly)
 
• File paid vendor invoices and maintain vendor files
 
• Reconcile and input corporate credit card expense transactions on a monthly basis
 
• Maintain expense reporting/reimbursement system, code and input employee expense reports into accounting system
 
• Handle vendor inquiries
 

 
Accounts Receivable:
 
• Daily cash receipts processing including data entry, bank deposit and filing photocopies of all customer checks
 
• Daily customer credit card input, processing and transmittal
 
• Handle customer inquiries and correspondence
 
• Semi-monthly collections via telephone, fax and mail
 
• Review AR open invoices and customer notes for follow-up
 
• Review credit hold-over 30 days late
 
• AR credit analysis for current shipments on hold
 

 
General:
 
• Sales tax reporting and payments
 
• Quarterly commission and royalty calculations, reporting, and payments
 
• Process and route incoming and outgoing mail
 
• Assist Accounting Manager with month end journal entries
 
• Assist with annual audit support
 
• Other duties as assigned
 

 
Education:
 

 
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
 

 
Experience:
 

 
• Minimum of 1 year prior accounting experience
 
• Outstanding interpersonal skills
 
• Solid verbal and written communication skills
 
• Ability to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
