Description : This is route work much like UPS or FedEx. Routes are located in specific zip codes. for instance, one route might have 50 stops in one zip code. Some zip codes have multiple routes like downtown. Each route may have 60 – 120 stops with different time commitments. Some deliveries are due by 9:00 am, some by 10:30 and some by 5:00 pm. You must be able to organize the stops according to the deadlines and deliver them accordingly to meet those service standards. This may mean circling through an area more than once a day.
As a Service Provider you will contract through SCI (Subcontracting Concepts Incorporated) with your work being offered through my company. You will receive compensation for managing a specific route as well as incentives for performance. You are responsible for all costs associated with doing your job as you are an independent contractor. This means you must pay your own taxes, purchase your own insurance, fuel, all costs associated with maintaining your vehicle, purchasing uniforms, pens etc… The benefit is that those costs are non-taxable and allow for you to write them off of your federal and state taxes. There are no medical/dental benefits as you are independent. You may get more information about becoming an independent contract courier by visiting www.scidriver.com
Expectations: Along with meeting time commitments, customer service is MOST IMPORTANT! You will be paid a daily marketing fee of $5.00-$7.00 to wear a uniform and advertise placards on your vehicle when you are servicing customers. Any failure to do so will result in revocation of your daily marketing fee and possibility of loss of contract. Furthermore, a kind, courteous attitude with customers is a must. Attention to detail when completing tasks associated with delivery/pick ups is the key to success. This is an opportuinity to build a business. Being well groomed, professional and efficient will make you successful.
Compensation: Each route has a negotiated base management fee. Example some routes pay $75.00 up to $125.00 or even more!! It depends on size of area along with difficulty of stops. In addition to the base managment fee there is a $0.75 per stop incentive for regular stops. Deliveries with service standards before 9:00am are paid at $3.00 per stop. Service Providers are paid a $1.00 fee to collect COD checks for select shipments. Then there is a fee for weight. If a stop has single/multiple packages totaling a weight over 10lbs the Service provider is a rate per pound based on a scale. Example, if a stop has 10 boxes totaling 150 lbs the Service provider would be paid a $3.72 incentive for that stop in addition to the $0.75 stop fee. The average service provider makes between $750.00 per week and $1500.00 per week depending on how efficent and how much they want to work.
