The successful armed candidate will meet all of the below-listed job requirements and have a desire for professional and financial growth. Reliable personal transportation required as schedule flexibility is required and not all posts are located near public transportation. Armed candidates will enjoy a full-time schedule plus overtime as necessary. Armed candidates will be guarding assets, property, etc in relation to the respective assigned contract/post. Specific Post Orders and training will be given after time of hire. Because these posts are high-profile public positions and are monitored by the clients, armed candidates are required to present a positive, professional image at all times. Armed candidates must also be open to standing for long periods of time — up to 10 hours may be necessary. Positive professional references are a must and are to be given at time of application.

Compensation and Benefits:

Basic Assignment:

Create and deliver fitness programs, including cardiovascular exercise, muscle conditioning and flexibility. Lead group fitness classes in a safe, effective and timely manner, appropriate to the fitness level of the participants in class, to enhance the physical, mental and spiritual health of each student. Provide customer service, guidance and leadership to all members and participants.

Qualifications:

• CPR and First Aid certifications current at date of hire.
• 18 years of age or older
• YMCA Principles and Practices of Health and Fitness Certification must be current within 60 days from date of hire
• Minimum of 25 hours of group exercise participation
• Zero to one year experience leading group exercise classes
• Physical ability to lead and participate in exercise/fitness activities
• Ability to communicate verbally to large and small groups of members
• Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical situations and physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency

Major Functions:

• Create and deliver group exercise classes within the parameters of class description and level
• Represent the YMCA by utilizing tools and information to increase member knowledge of fitness as well as other programs provided through the YMCA.
• Develop and maintain professional relationships with members.
• Attend all scheduled staff meetings.
• Participate as an active staff member to ensure a strong staff team is being developed and is serving the needs of membership and the community.
• Promote the YMCA in a positive manner and keep member service as the primary objective at all times.
