Graphic Design Intern



DESCRIPTION:



Life+Gear Inc. is looking for a graphic design intern who can assist the creative team in taking our brand to the next level. You will gain working experience and skills to get you to enhance your career path. This is a fantastic learning experience for a highly motivated individual. You’ll be exposed to a wide range of marketing collateral, ecommunications, brand development, web design and more. This is a great opportunity to get hands-on, in-house branding and marketing experience in the design field and to build your portfolio working with a great (and a little crazy) team. Your daily activities could range from designing brochures, powerpoint presentations, catalog updates, email blasts, to updating packaging. You will also reformat existing designs to fit various outputs, as well as assisting in some light administrative tasks.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:



• Proficiency in core design software packages: Full Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, Dreamweaver and Flash a plus- on a mac platform

• Conceptual skills and clear understanding of visual design, layout, typography and print production

• Grasp of technical design issues; image optimization, technical platform compatibilities

• Grasp of pre-press and printing standards

• Experienced in color correcting product photography and creating clipping paths

• A positive and collaborative team member

• Strong organizational and time-management skills; When projects overlap it is important to work in a system that is fluid for all to manage.

• Must be on time and reliable

• Self-motivated and have sharp attention to detail, the ability to work independently or as part of a team, a flexible and creative personality, and the ability to manage multiple projects.

• Manage your time and implement projects with limited instructions

• Web design/experience is a big plus


COMMITMENT:



Approximately 3 days out of the week: Monday – Friday. In office from 9:30 – 5:30
