Union Law Group has an immediately available position for full or part time Immigration Attorney. Although immigration law experience is preferred, we are willing to train the right candidate who shows energy and passion for immigration law.

Primary Job Descriptions
1. Interview clients and evaluate options, alternatives, and make adequate recommendations, taking into account likelihood of success, costs, and evaluating personal considerations.
2. Draft pleadings, motions, and file with court.
3. Effectively handle litigation and transactional cases, from initial intake until final appointment or individual hearings and prepare and file appeals where necessary.
4. Represent clients in immigration litigation and administrative hearings.
5. Case types include:
a. Litigation: Cancellation of removal, requests for prosecutorial discretion under the Howard and Morton memoranda, deferred action requests, asylum, withholding of removal, and convention against torture.
b. Transactional:
i. Immigrant – family based petitions, employment based petitions, PERM and labor certifications, religious visas, investor immigrant visas, waivers of inadmissibility, adjustment of status and consulate processing.
ii. Non-Immigrant — entrepreneur/investor and other business visas, visas for athletes, artists, and entertainers, Professional visas under NAFTA, U/T and VAWA petitions.
iii. Citizenship — Acquisition/derivative citizenship and naturalization applications.
c. Corporate — Processing of California corporations for foreign investors for visa purposes.

The position will involve managing subordinates, legal assistants, clients, opposing counsel, judges, etc. and make quarterly evaluations and compensation recommendations for subordinates, as well as ensure client accounts are non-delinquent. An attention to detail, time management, and being able to handle cases within deadlines is crucial.

Training and Probation is provided for three months

Additional Qualifications
The ideal candidate will also be passionate about immigration law and feel a desire to assist with this need. Characteristics will include enthusiasm, passion, and a sense of urgency. Entrepreneurial spirit is preferred as business development is expected. You must be able to work with corporate executives, wealthy individuals, blue collar workers and indigent clients on a daily basis and be able to communicate effectively. Additionally, we are looking for someone who does not shy away from discovering new and interesting areas of immigration law not currently handled by the firm as well as develop business relationships with other law firms, business professionals, organizations for purposes of business development and professional relationships.
