Our Retail Talent Acquisition team has an opening for a Recruiter to support our military hiring initiatives. This position is located at our corporate headquarters in Pleasanton, California.
The recruiter is responsible for growing and enhancing our military recruiting efforts.
The two primary focus areas are to:
1. Brand Safeway as an employer of choice to all bases, Army Career Alumni Program (ACAP) and Transition Assistance Program (TAP) offices, agencies, and employer partnerships.
2. Recruit military talent for designated positions with Safeway by partnering with business leaders and team members to ensure successful placement to maximize hiring outcomes.Key responsibilities include:
1. Manage full-cycle recruitment and selection process for military program to include sourcing, selection, and on-boarding.
2. Create sourcing, recruiting, and branding strategies with clearly defined objectives, desired outcomes, and a calendar of events to include military bases, transition programs, alumni groups, professional organizations, social networking, employer partnerships, agencies, and more. The recruiter is expected to become a member and seek leadership positions within the organizations that fit their background.
3. Interact with military representatives and candidates to schedule events, interviews, and other outreach activities.
4. Establish goals and objectives to align with the overall business strategy of the military program.
5. Oversee recruitment expenses for events and programs within established budget and identify and negotiate cost savings.
6. Work with Director, Retail Talent Acquisition on onboarding, selection and interviewing guides, recruitment advertising, applicant tracking system, internal (SharePoint) and external website content, and other related process steps.
7. Evaluate effectiveness of current programs and process and make recommendations for improvement as necessary.Qualifications:
* BA or BS degree preferred. Prefer a well recognized ROTC program or federal service academy.
* At least 2 years experience with full life-cycle recruiting is required (large company preferred). Service as a commissioned military officer is also preferred.
* Knowledge of State and Federal employment laws.
* High degree of initiative; must be able to work independently and be a self-starter as well as a strong team player.
* Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and manage highly confidential information.
* Sense of urgency and business orientation combined with customer service skills.
* Strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
* Strong analytical skills to create, measure, and scale program metrics.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Presentation skills to a large audience are a must.
* Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required; SharePoint experience a plus. Must be very computer and web savvy to utilize professional and social networking media, manage internal SharePoint site, and use applicant tracking system.
