OPERATIONS MANAGER/DIRECTOR
Position Available: Immediately
Responsibilities:
• Ensure that production schedules are met
• Supervise Production Leads
• Hold daily and weekly planning meetings with Manufacturing Product Managers, Production Leads and Buyer/Planners
• Supervise Manufacturing Engineers to optimize process flow and minimize labor costs
• Supervise Test Engineers to streamline test procedures and maximize first-pass yields
• Work with Quality Engineers to minimize rework and scrap
• Oversee training of production personnel, including maintenance of training logs and cross-training to minimize single-person dependencies
• Ensure that productivity data and quality data are gathered and reported to management in a timely manner
• Oversee service and repair activities
• Oversee production-related machine shop activities
• Ensure production practices and procedures comply with ISO-9001, ISO-13485, FDA QSR and OSHA standards, including monitoring and enforcing strict ESD controls
• Specify manufacturing supplies and equipment required to meet production commitments
• Oversee facility maintenance, including flooring, roofing, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, pest control, structural maintenance, as well as overseeing external janitorial and trash services
Requirements:
• High school diploma or GED
• At least two years’ experience as a Production Manager or Supervisor
• At least five years’ experience in an electro-mechanical manufacturing environment
• At least two years’ experience on a medical device manufacturing team
• Knowledge of FDA QSRs, ISO-9001, ISO-13485
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
• Ability to effectively communicate team goals and motivate individuals
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds
• Hands-on MRP, ERP experience
• Basic computer skills
• Hands-on lean manufacturing experience and training
Other Desired Experience and Skills:
• Two-year degree in relevant field, or equivalent
• Formal supervisory training
• Experience with production of complex electromechanical, fluidic and optical subassemblies
• Six sigma training
Reports To:
• Head of Operations
Compensation:
• $68 – 85K base salary, depending on experience
• Bonus potential for meeting agreed-upon performance metrics
