Research Technician in Stem Cell Biology (San Diego)

A motivated, enthusiastic and team-oriented candidate will perform experimental laboratory research in-relation to canine stem cells. The focus of the lab is to understand how canine autologous and allogeneic stem cells such as neural, adipose and bone marrow can help treat specific canine disorders, injuries and illnesses. Excellent knowledge of cell biology and molecular biology is essential. The candidate will help develop, design and conduct research projects, will participate in formulating research methods and suggest options for improving quality and recommending solutions. The candidate will be involved in routine laboratory maintenance, including placing orders, equipment maintenance, and keeping the lab well organized. He/She will work both independently and in a team environment on collection of data and analysis of research results. The candidate will be responsible for day-to-day oversight of the laboratory.
A degree in biology or related health science field (Bachelor’s degree with 0-2 years of experience). The candidate must be have at least one year of expertise in cell culture. Excellent interpersonal skills, self-motivated and demonstrated ability to work with others in a collaborative environment is essential. Good organization skills and understanding of written scientific English and flexibility in schedule is required. Must be proficient in working with computers, MS Office, databases and other software aiding laboratory organization.
