Senior Scientist:

• Searching for a Ph.D. level with experience in developing genomic assays.
• Position will involve interfacing with external partners to customize Company’s assays for their applications.
• Ability to translate customer use cases to design requirements that a bioinformaticist can execute is a must, as is the ability to design and perform well controlled experiments and to work with large datasets.

Description of Position:

Company has a Molecular Bio/Sequencing based clinical assay but is relying on research partners to come up with the focus or specific questions.

The Scientist hired into this position will manage the relationship with the clients and perform the bench-top support. They will interface between the clients and the bioinformatics scientists. Clients will provide the list of genes, the bioinformatics group will help in the design of the experiment and the Scientist will perform the assay and provide the results to the clinical partners.

Candidates will need recent hands-on experience (not strict management or non-lab applications scientist roles) in the lab as well as experience handling genomic scale experiments. Microarray experience is acceptable. Next gen sequencing is ideal.

Position will involve some travel — 1-3 trip/month to visit academic/medical partners who’ll be providing the genetic content used in these genomic assays. MUST have passport.

Ph.D. in molecular biology, biochemistry, chemistry, and five years of industry experience required.
