SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR (MISSION VALLEY)

The Systems Administrator seeks to ensure a stable and reliable computer network, including the appropriate hardware and software to allow Associates to be productive and efficient in their job responsibilities. He or she also plays a key role in incorporating a culture of “continuous improvement” throughout the company.
Responsibilities
1. Manage the computer network and VOIP telephone system to ensure they are operating at the highest possible level of performance.
2. Provide technical support and troubleshooting to Associates experiencing IT issues using a help ticket system that date stamps and documents the issue and resolution. Coordinate the work of outside system engineers to address matters outside your area of expertise.
3. Set up new hires with a monitor, thin client, phone, network account, email account and appropriate software access. Remove terminated employees from the system.
4. Ensure onsite and offsite backups are taking place. Document in monthly report to management.
5. Provide support for end users experiencing software issues, including Microsoft Office products and industry-specific software packages. Serve as primary contact with software providers to understand and ensure maximum utilization of software applications.
6. Working with outside experts, evaluate and increase system capabilities so as to provide speed and capacity well in excess of actual needs at all times.
7. Provide support for peripheral units, including copiers, scanners, printers and fax machines.
8. Perform regular server and network maintenance including reviewing logs, replacing hardware, updating software, etc.
9. Coordinate various IT projects under the direction of the President or Vice President.
10. Serve as a member of the Continuous Improvement Team, actively participating workshops and projects designed to improve accuracy, effectiveness and efficiency.Education, Experience and other Qualifications
1. Minimum two to three years experience in helpdesk and/or network administration environment.
2. Bachelor’s degree in an IT-related field or comparable technical training.
3. Experience installing, troubleshooting and maintaining a network, including Active Directory, Exchange and SQL in an enterprise Windows environment (MCP a plus).
4. Experience with backup, antivirus and anti malware/spyware solutions.
5. Knowledge of routers, switches, firewalls and VPN solutions.
6. Excellent listening and interpersonal skills. Good writing skills.
7. Strong work ethic. Self motivated and self sufficient in approach to work. Good organizational skills, time management skills and ability to multi-task. Organized, thorough, and detailed.
8. Well developed analytical skills. Ability to resolve issues using deductive reasoning.
